Two days of music, local flavors, and markets in the heart of Villanova d'Asti
Every year in mid-May, the historic center of Villanova d'Asti transforms into a vibrant open-air celebration. The Spring Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the local calendar, set in the heart of the Piedmont region: two days when the squares fill with music, the aromas of local cuisine, market stalls, and people of all ages. It is a classic village festival that showcases the community's identity, welcoming visitors from the surrounding areas with its informal and friendly atmosphere.
The heart of the event beats between Piazza Supponito, Via Roma, and Piazza del Comune, the central areas of the town that become a sprawling stage for the weekend. Here you will find music stages, food stands, and market stalls, while the funfair, set up during the days surrounding the festival, adds a playful touch for children and teenagers.
The program alternates between musical evenings and culinary delights: the food stalls and cocktail bar are managed by the Pro Loco of Villanova d'Asti, the true driving force behind the festival. Sunday is dedicated to the special market, with exhibitors, hobbyists, artisans, and small local producers bringing the town center to life from the morning onwards. There is no shortage of entertainment for the little ones and musical performances scattered throughout the various squares.
The Spring Festival is above all an opportunity for the residents of Villanova d'Asti and the surrounding hamlets to meet. The local youth groups, associations, and volunteers work together to build a program that evolves each year while keeping the same spirit: free admission, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a shared desire to celebrate the arrival of spring. It is an ideal event to discover an authentic corner of the Asti province, far from mass tourism.
