The local festival that welcomes the spring season in San Pietro Val Lemina
The Spring Fair is one of the most beloved and anticipated events for the entire community of San Pietro Val Lemina, a small town nestled in the Lemina creek valley, in the province of Turin and just a few kilometers from Pinerolo. Every year, on April 25th, the village streets fill with stalls, scents, and colors to celebrate the arrival of the warm season with an authentic local festival, deeply rooted in the farming traditions of the Piedmont region.
The heart of the fair lies in the preservation of the valley's rural traditions. Along the town center streets, you will find displays of agricultural machinery and farm animals, a gathering and parade of vintage tractors, and demonstrations of ancient crafts, where the tools and techniques of the past come back to life before visitors' eyes. There are also unique cultural moments, such as the judging of tome (local cheeses) and the display of bells and "ruduna" (cowbells), symbols of the area's alpine and pastoral culture.
The Spring Fair is also designed with children in mind. In Piazza Piemonte, there are traditional games, entertainment, and pony rides organized by the C.S.E. Pinerolo G.I.R., while the town hall hosts an exhibition of artworks created by the local kindergarten and primary school students. Among the most spectacular attractions is the Trial Show, a motorcycle trial demonstration featuring world-class champions.
Gastronomy is a key highlight: the stalls offer typical products of the Val Lemina and the Pinerolo area, ranging from cheeses and honey to local herbs. At midday, the traditional Fair Lunch takes place, featuring a menu of asparagus, meats, risottos, and local specialties. Throughout the day, Piedmontese choral groups perform traditional regional songs.
Organized by the Pro Loco Pro Val Lemina in collaboration with the Municipality of San Pietro Val Lemina, the Spring Fair is much more than a market: it is a moment when the entire valley comes together to celebrate, rediscover its roots, and welcome spring in Piedmont.
The 2026 edition of the Spring Fair brought San Pietro Val Lemina to life on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, confirming its status as one of the most cherished events in the Val Lemina. The village streets hosted displays of agricultural machinery and farm animals, a gathering of vintage tractors, demonstrations of traditional crafts, and markets featuring typical valley products. A major draw for the public was the motorcycle trial show in Piazza Piemonte, featuring world-class champions.
