About Sport for All Festival

The Sport for All Festival brings Ghislarengo, a small town in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont, to life with a day entirely dedicated to movement, play, and social inclusion. Piazza Vittime di Bologna hosts a variety of activities including running and walking, football, cycling, padel, and tennis, alongside creative workshops, family activities, and moments of reflection on accessible sport. Organized by the Pro Loco of Ghislarengo in collaboration with the Municipality, the festival concludes with a traditional free spaghetti feast offered to all participants.

A sports festival truly open to everyone

The Sport for All Festival is the event that, every June, transforms Ghislarengo into a large open-air playground. In this small town in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont, nestled in the rice-growing plains along the Sesia river, the event brings together sports associations, families, and local residents for a day designed to introduce people of all ages and abilities to physical activity, without barriers or distinctions.

The sports program

The heart of the festival lies in the variety of disciplines offered, all of which are free and accessible. Throughout the town's streets and squares, demonstrations and open sessions take place:

  • StraGhislarengo, a 6-kilometer fun run and walk through the village and surrounding countryside;
  • An open day of football hosted by ASD Carpignano Calcio, with sessions open to young players;
  • Cycling activities provided by X-Team a.s.d.;
  • Padel and tennis courts, set up to try these sports in an informal setting;
  • Canine obedience trials, a popular event for families;
  • A shiatsu session, to discover wellness and body care.

Inclusion, creativity, and community

The Ghislarengo event is not just a showcase of sports, but a day built around the value of inclusion. A highlight is the roundtable on sport and social inclusion, a moment for discussion on the role of physical activity as a tool for participation and growth for the entire community. For children, there is the creative workshop "Coloring the Mural", which combines art and play, leaving a colorful and lasting mark on the town.

The Pro Loco spaghetti feast

As in any self-respecting Piedmontese village festival, conviviality at the table holds a place of honor. At the end of the day, the Pro Loco of Ghislarengo offers a free spaghetti feast to all attendees, the perfect occasion to wrap up a day of sport and friendship. It is the dedication of the Pro Loco volunteers, together with the support of the Municipality of Ghislarengo, that makes such a free and participatory event possible.

An opportunity to discover Ghislarengo

The Sport for All Festival is also the perfect chance to visit an authentic corner of the Vercelli area, amidst rice paddies, rural traditions, and the warm hospitality of local associations. A simple and genuine day that puts people before competition, staying true to the spirit of the community festivals that animate the villages of Piedmont.
