A day of walking, theatre, and flavours along the Po

In Lombriasco, a town in the Metropolitan City of Turin (Piedmont) nestled on the banks of the Po river, the "Sponde vive Vox Padi - walks and stories along the Po" event offers an original format that combines light hiking, the preservation of local history, culinary excellence, and live theatre. The day is one of the stops on the Tournée in Cammino 2026 by the Scavalcamontagne company, organized in collaboration with the Associazione Le Terre dei Savoia and the Municipality of Lombriasco.

The morning walk

The morning is dedicated to exploring the local area: participants meet at the town hall, where a shuttle service takes them to the Gamna region. From there, the walk begins, passing through the town and rediscovering the images of "C'era una volta Lombriasco" (Once upon a time in Lombriasco) in the company of the Scavalcamontagne theatre group, eventually reaching Piazza Falcone e Borsellino. The walk concludes with a social aperitif.

The "Recipes and Symphonies" show

In the evening, in the heart of the town, the itinerant show "Ricette e sinfonie" is performed, loosely based on "Le ricette immorali" (Immoral Recipes) by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán. It is a true manual of seduction, a journey made of words—sometimes languid, sometimes spicy—tastings, and clever tricks, capable of uniting food and art to delight the audience's senses.

The convivial dinner

The show is followed by a convivial dinner featuring porchetta as the star of the table, a moment that rounds off the day in the spirit of community and local cuisine.

The "walking theatre" of the Scavalcamontagne

The Scavalcamontagne are a troupe of artists who, since 2020, have chosen to take their shows out of theatres and into the streets: they walk in the morning, explore the small villages hosting the tour in the afternoon, and perform in their squares in the evening. The Tournée in Cammino 2026 includes months of walking routes through the Piedmontese provinces, crossing dozens of towns along hundreds of kilometres of trails.
