Celebrating Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba

Sörì in Festa – Roots and Visions is the major festival dedicated to Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG, its producers, and the winemaking history of one of the Langhe's most iconic villages. The event takes place in Diano d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, within the Piedmontese territory declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, transforming the Belvedere del Piazzale della Chiesa into an open-air stage for the town's signature wine.

A Double Anniversary

The 2026 edition, titled "Roots and Visions," celebrates a significant milestone: the 40th anniversary of the sörì census in Diano and the 30th anniversary of the Associazione Produttori I Sörì di Diano. The "sörì" are the best-exposed vineyards, the sunny slopes that produce the most successful expressions of Dolcetto. The title reflects the spirit of the event: honoring the roots of peasant tradition while looking toward the future of the grape with a contemporary perspective.

Tasting Booths

The heart of the festival lies in the tasting booths where, throughout the day, the public can meet producers and sample wines from local wineries. It is the perfect opportunity to compare labels, vintages, and different interpretations, offering a vibrant, current snapshot of Dolcetto di Diano. The day is complemented by street-food style stalls featuring local specialties, artisan stands, and entertainment designed for a wide and diverse audience.

The "Trial of Dolcetto in the Square"

The most anticipated event is the "Trial of Dolcetto in the Square" at 3:30 PM: a theatrical courtroom setting in the piazza that takes the wine discussion out of traditional contexts, turning it into a public forum for dialogue, storytelling, and participation. Representatives from the wine world—sommeliers, restaurateurs, producers, and journalists—debate the role of Dolcetto in today's market and its future prospects.

Music and Entertainment Until Evening

The festival marks the day with ceremonies and performances: the official opening with flag-wavers and a marching band, afternoon shows, and, from the evening onwards, a DJ set and live concert that keep the crowd entertained until late. For enthusiasts, a tasting masterclass is also available at the Enoteca Comunale, by reservation.
