An autumn festival at Senigola

Sgabei d'autunno is the autumn food and wine event organized by the Pro Loco of Pescarolo ed Uniti, in the province of Cremona. It takes place in October at the Oratorio campestre della Senigola, the same location that hosts the Festarolo in June, and has a declared charitable purpose.

The sgabel: a taste of Lunigiana

The star is the sgabel (or sgabeo), a strip of fried bread dough, typical of Lunigiana, the borderland between Tuscany, Liguria, and Emilia. Traditionally served with cured meats and cheeses, the sgabel is a simple yet festive specialty that in Pescarolo becomes the common thread of evenings dedicated to the typical cuisine of that territory, brought all the way to the Cremonese plain.

Conviviality and solidarity

The festival is a charitable event: the proceeds support the community's activities and projects. The evenings at Senigola combine good food, company, and the autumn atmosphere of the countryside, in a formula that for almost twenty years has attracted locals and visitors from the surrounding areas.

The Pro Loco's calendar

Sgabei d'autunno ideally closes the festival season for the Pro Loco of Pescarolo ed Uniti, after the Pescarolo Carnival, the Festarolo, and the Singing Contest. An association that keeps the community fabric of a small town in the Cremonese plain alive year after year.
