A concert series held in mountain huts, cabins, and local venues in Sexten, in the heart of the Sexten Dolomites.
Sexten Mountain & Music is one of the most distinctive events in the summer and autumn calendar of Sexten, a German-speaking town in the Upper Puster Valley, in the province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige). The idea behind the festival is as simple as it is charming: to bring live music directly to the places that define the town's identity—the bars, restaurants, cabins, and mountain huts scattered between the valley floor and the slopes of Mount Elmo and the Sexten Dolomites.
Each event takes place in a different location and features a musical group with a unique repertoire, ranging from rock and pop to folk, jazz, and traditional South Tyrolean music. Audiences can discover hidden corners of the region, alternating between concerts in town venues and performances at high altitudes, accessible via ski lifts or scenic hikes. Admission to the concerts is free, making the festival accessible to families, hikers, and tourists vacationing beneath the Three Peaks.
The 2026 edition spans the entire season, from June to October, with eight events distributed between the village and the mountain huts:
What sets Sexten Mountain & Music apart is the combination of great music, typical mountain hut cuisine, and the scenery of the Sexten Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The high-altitude concerts, in particular, allow guests to enjoy live music with views of the area's most famous peaks, including the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Organized by the Sexten Tourist Association, the festival is now a staple of the town's tourist season and an opportunity to experience the South Tyrolean mountains in an authentic way.
The 2026 festival consists of eight events between June and October:
All concerts have free admission.
