Innovation Looking to the Mountains
The Lagazuoi Winning Ideas Mountain Awards, known as WIMA, is a curatorial project by Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, the highest museum space in the Dolomites, located at 2,732 meters in the municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo (province of Belluno), near the Falzarego Pass. The award is dedicated to the most innovative and sustainable ideas conceived for the mountain world.
Three Categories for the Future of the Highlands
The competition awards projects in three main areas:
- Mountain Equipment and Clothing: technical garments and accessories for specific altitudes and weather conditions
- Projects and Services for the Mountains: innovative solutions for experiencing and enhancing the alpine landscape
- Mountain Food and Wine Productions: innovative products from communities living above 600 meters altitude
The jury pays particular attention to the themes of sustainability and inclusivity, with special mentions for the most significant contributions.
An Exhibition at Altitude, Between Art and Ideas
The selected projects are exhibited at Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, which opens in June and remains open for almost a year. An event that makes Cortina and the Venetian Dolomites a laboratory of innovation linked to mountain culture.
Lagazuoi WIMA — edition 2026
The 7th edition of the Lagazuoi Winning Ideas Mountain Awards opens the exhibition of selected projects on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, at an altitude of 2,732 meters in the Cortina d'Ampezzo area. The exhibition, dedicated to innovation and sustainability in the mountains, remains open until March 2027. Applications were open until April 30, 2026, in the three categories: equipment and clothing, projects and services, and high-altitude food and wine productions.

How to Get There
Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti can be reached by the Lagazuoi cable car from Passo Falzarego, about 17 km from Cortina d'Ampezzo along the SS48.
