The Sella circuit without cars
The Sellaronda Bike Day is one of the most famous cycling tourism events in the Alps. For one day, the four passes surrounding the Sella massif — Sella Pass, Gardena Pass, Pordoi Pass, and Campolongo Pass — are closed to motorized traffic and reserved exclusively for bicycles. Campolongo Pass falls within the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana (province of Belluno), an access point to the circuit along with Arabba.
A legendary loop
The loop route measures approximately 54 kilometers with over 1700 meters of elevation gain and crosses four Ladin valleys — Val Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, and Fodom — connecting the four passes in a succession of hairpin bends that have made the history of the Giro d'Italia. You cycle counter-clockwise, at your own pace, without any registration requirement or fixed starting point.
Two events, spring and autumn
The unique feature of the Sellaronda Bike Day is that it happens twice a year: a spring edition and an autumn edition, offering cyclists two opportunities to experience the Sella circuit in complete freedom. Free and non-competitive, the event attracts tens of thousands of participants overall, becoming a true widespread celebration of the Ladin Dolomites.
Sellaronda Bike Day — edition 2026
In 2026, the Sellaronda Bike Day takes place on two dates: the spring edition on Saturday, June 6, and the autumn edition on Saturday, September 12. On both days, the four passes around the Sella — Sella, Gardena, Pordoi, and Campolongo (the latter in the territory of Livinallongo del Col di Lana) — are closed to motorized traffic from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The approximately 54 km loop with over 1700 m of elevation gain can be cycled freely counter-clockwise, without registration or a mandatory starting point.

- Free start from Arabba, Corvara, Canazei, Selva di Val Gardena
Saturday, September 12, 2026 — Autumn Edition
- 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM — Closure of the four Sella passes to traffic
- Same loop and same conditions as the spring edition
Free and non-competitive event, open to muscle-powered bikes and e-bikes.

How to get there
Arabba and Campolongo Pass can be reached from the SS244 of Val Badia and the SS48 of the Dolomites. From the south, exit at Belluno on the A27 and take the SS203 Agordina; from the north, from Brunico via Corvara.
