The Seifenfußball-Turnier — or soap soccer tournament — is one of the most entertaining summer events on the calendar in Lagundo/Algund, a town in the Burgraviato district of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. The formula is as simple as it is irresistible: you play soccer on a large inflatable pitch covered in soap and water, where every sprint, dribble, and shot turns into a spectacular slide. Balance matters more than technique, and laughter is guaranteed for both players and spectators.

Who organizes it

The event is promoted by Algund Aktiv in collaboration with the Jugendbeirat Algund, the local youth council. It is one of the recurring events the association dedicates to community life in Lagundo, alongside the village festival, local markets, and summer sports events. The goal is clear: to offer young people and families a day of outdoor social gathering, focused on play and togetherness.

How it works

The tournament takes place on the Thalguterhaus Festplatz, the main festival square in the center of Lagundo. Registered teams compete in knockout matches on the soapy pitch, creating unpredictable games where simply staying on your feet is a small feat. The day is long, stretching from morning until late at night:
