Music, sea, and flavors in Tre Fontane, Campobello di Mazara
The Sea and Taste Festival is a touring event that combines live music, culture, and seafood gastronomy along the coast of southwestern Sicily, between the provinces of Trapani and Agrigento. The festival is promoted by the Fisheries Local Action Group (GAL) "Il Sole e l'Azzurro tra Selinunte, Sciacca e Vigata" under the 2021-2027 National FEAMPA Program, with the goal of celebrating the identity of coastal communities and local seafood products.
In the Municipality of Campobello di Mazara, in the Province of Trapani, the festival visits the seaside hamlet of Tre Fontane, a renowned holiday destination overlooking the sea. Events are held in Piazza Favoroso, the heart of the fishing village, in an open-air, free-admission setting that draws both locals and tourists during the height of summer.
Each stop of the festival features a concert or performance by artists from the Italian and Sicilian music scene. The evening is introduced by a small tasting of local seafood, designed to create a dialogue between music, sea flavors, and local traditions. This is the hallmark of the Sea and Taste Festival: transforming coastal villages into stages under the stars, where culinary culture becomes an integral part of the experience.
The festival operates as a network of events distributed across ten coastal municipalities: Campobello di Mazara, Castelvetrano-Selinunte, Menfi, Sciacca, Ribera, Cattolica Eraclea, Montallegro, Siculiana, Realmonte, and Porto Empedocle. From June to early autumn, the festival accompanies the summer along the coast with concerts in symbolic locations, from the Archaeological Park of Selinunte to Roman villas and the squares of fishing villages.
The Campobello di Mazara stop is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Tre Fontane, at Piazza Favoroso. The star of the evening is the "La Voce del Padrone Tribute Band," performing the repertoire of Franco Battiato. As per the festival format, the concert is preceded by a small tasting of local seafood.
The event is part of the third edition of the Sea and Taste Festival, promoted by the Fisheries GAL "Il Sole e l'Azzurro tra Selinunte, Sciacca e Vigata." The 2026 festival opened on June 20 with Sergio Cammariere at the Archaeological Park of Selinunte and continues until October 2 in the ten coastal municipalities of the district.
2026 Circuit (selection): June 20 Selinunte (Sergio Cammariere), June 21 Porto Empedocle (Giacomo Tantillo Quintet), July 4 Montallegro (Ivan Segreto), July 12 Realmonte (Daria Biancardi), July 17 Siculiana (Salvo Piparo), July 25 Sciacca (Francesco Baccini), August 4 Cattolica Eraclea (Calandra & Calandra), August 8 Borgo Bonsignore (Nino Buonocore), August 12 Campobello di Mazara, October 2 Menfi (Massimo Spata).
Tre Fontane is a coastal hamlet of Campobello di Mazara, in the Province of Trapani. By car, it can be reached via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway (Castelvetrano exit), then following signs for the coast. The nearest airport is Trapani-Birgi; alternatively, Palermo Falcone-Borsellino. The reference railway station is Castelvetrano.
Events are mostly free; some stops on the circuit may require a symbolic 5-euro ticket. Booking is recommended via the GAL website (flagsoleazzurro.it). It is advisable to check the access requirements for each individual evening.
These are open-air events in the height of summer: wear light clothing and arrive a little early to secure a spot in the square.
