About La Raviolata of Scapoli

In Scapoli, a small village in Alto Molise famous worldwide for its bagpipes, a Sunday in February transforms into a grand festival dedicated to the Scapoli ravioli, a local specialty awarded the De.C.O. recognition. La Raviolata, organized by the Pro Scapoli Tourist Association, combines tastings in the village streets, bagpipe music, and folk groups in a convivial atmosphere that draws visitors from all over the region. A delicious event that beautifully closes the carnival season.

La Raviolata, festival of the Scapoli ravioli

Every year, in the heart of winter, the village of Scapoli (province of Isernia) celebrates its iconic gastronomic product with the Scapoli Ravioli Festival, known to all as La Raviolata. The Scapoli ravioli is a typical stuffed pasta from the village, so distinctive that it has obtained the De.C.O. (Denominazione Comunale d'Origine - Municipal Designation of Origin) recognition, the mark that certifies the inseparable link between a product and its territory.

A village that lives on music and flavors

Scapoli is no ordinary village: it is the Italian capital of the bagpipe, home to the renowned Bagpipe Festival and Museum. It is not surprising, therefore, that La Raviolata blends gastronomy and popular culture: the performance of the Scapoli Bagpipers with the show "Suoni in Libertร " (Sounds in Freedom) and that of the folk group "Ru Maccatur" from Carpinone accompany the day, while the "Laboratorio del Gusto" (Taste Workshop) guides visitors to discover the flavors of Alto Molise.

A village festival open to all

The event is organized by the Pro Scapoli Tourist Association with the support of the Municipality of Scapoli and the patronage of the Molise Region, Pro Loco, and UNPLI. Among the historic partners are local entities such as La Molisana and Acqua Santa Croce. Tastings take place in the streets of the historic center, in an atmosphere of community celebration that ideally closes the Molise carnival season.
