About Wine Fest

The Wine Fest is the celebration of wine and rural traditions in Sant'Andrea del Garigliano, a small village in the Garigliano valley, in the province of Frosinone. Born from the initiative of four local youths, the event brings the central Via Roma to life for two evenings in mid-September with wine tastings, traditional country-style dishes, and live folk music. In 2025, it celebrated its tenth anniversary with concerts by Brigallè and Bucalone, cementing its status as one of the most cherished food and wine events in lower Lazio.

A festival born from four local youths

The Wine Fest began in Sant'Andrea del Garigliano from the idea of four local friends with a simple goal: to have fun and entertain others, reviving the past through the scents, flavors, and sounds of their land. From a spontaneous village initiative, the festival has grown year after year to become a staple of the late-summer calendar in the Frosinone province, attracting visitors from across the Garigliano valley and the nearby Cassino area.

Wine at the heart of memory and conviviality

As the name suggests, the absolute star is wine: specifically, that of local producers and wineries, served in glasses along Via Roma alongside traditional rural dishes. The event is a true journey to rediscover wines and ancient country flavors, a dive into the past that welcomes lovers of authentic, old-fashioned cuisine. The motto chosen by the organizers perfectly summarizes the playful spirit of the evening: «We will die, yes... but not of thirst!».

Folk music and dancing until nightfall

Alongside food and wine, the other soul of the Wine Fest is live music. The evenings are enlivened by folk bands that transform the historic center into a large open-air dance floor: accordions, tambourines, and traditional songs accompany the audience until late at night. The 2025 edition featured performances by Brigallè, a group much-loved in lower Lazio and a returning guest, and Bucalone, with concerts starting at 9:30 PM.

The tenth edition in 2025

On September 12 and 13, 2025, a Friday and Saturday evening, The Wine Fest celebrated its tenth edition. From 8:00 PM, the central Via Roma filled with stalls offering wine tastings that tell the stories of the land, traditional dishes, dancing, and entertainment, confirming the festival's winning formula: traditional cuisine, good wine, and live music.

Sant'Andrea del Garigliano and its territory

The municipality of Sant'Andrea del Garigliano is a small village in southern Lazio, nestled on the hills overlooking the Garigliano river valley, on the border between the province of Frosinone and Campania. We are in the southernmost part of the Ciociaria region, just a few kilometers from Cassino and the Abbey of Montecassino, in a land of olive groves and vineyards where rural culture is still a living memory. Festivals like the Wine Fest play a vital role: keeping the community together and passing down the customs, flavors, and music of tradition to new generations.
