The gastronomic excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia at Villa Manin
Every spring, the majestic Villa Manin in Passariano, the last ducal residence and one of the most important monumental complexes in Friuli Venezia Giulia, transforms into the beating heart of the regional food and wine tradition. Sapori Pro Loco is the event that brings together dozens of Pro Loco associations from every corner of the region, from the Carnic valleys to the lagoon, to tell the story of Friuli through its most authentic flavors.
Organized by the UNPLI Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Committee, the event is much more than a simple festival: it is a collective celebration of volunteerism and local identity, where each stand is managed by Pro Loco volunteers who bring the best of their town to the table.
The exedras of the ducal complex host dozens of gastronomic stations with a range of specialties from frico with polenta to Carnic cjarsons, from San Daniele cured ham to Montasio cheese, as well as game dishes and traditional desserts like cjastelani biscuits and chestnut muffins. Many recipes are innovative reinterpretations rooted in the region's memory. Accompanying the dishes are the great Friulian DOC wines and regional craft beers, with dedicated guided tastings.
Alongside the stands, a packed calendar of events enlivens all the days: free concerts, tribute bands, DJ sets, Friulian folklore groups, craft and creativity markets, exhibitions, guided tours of the villa and the Vintage Carriage Museum, cycling routes, workshops for children, and cultural presentations. A program designed for all ages, weaving together music, culture, sport, nature, and crafts.
The event enjoys the support of the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Codroipo, and the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce, and collaborates with PromoTurismoFVG, the Friuli Foundation, and the Friulian Philological Society. Committed to sustainability, it has obtained the EcoFVG ecological certification. An unmissable event for those who want to discover the most genuine side of Friuli, through taste, traditions, and hospitality.
The 23rd edition of Sapori Pro Loco takes place over two weekends: Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th (lunch and dinner), and then Friday, May 22nd (dinner), Saturday, May 23rd, and Sunday, May 24th (lunch and dinner). Twenty-two Pro Loco associations animate the gastronomic stands with 66 regional specialties, more than half of which are new or reinterpretations of tradition, accompanied by Friuli Venezia Giulia DOC wines and craft beers.
In addition to gastronomy, over fifty Pro Loco associations from the UNPLI Regional Committee contribute to a calendar that spans music, folklore, culture, sport, guided tours, nature, crafts, and literature.

Villa Manin is located in Passariano, a hamlet of Codroipo (UD), easily accessible from the A4 motorway (Codroipo exit) and the Codroipo train station. Ample parking nearby.
Access to the event area and shows is free. Some events and guided tours require booking via email to the organization.
Numerous accommodation facilities in Codroipo and in the municipalities of Medio Friuli; Udine is about 25 km away.
