Where the world's vines are born

Rauscedo, a small hamlet in the municipality of San Giorgio della Richinvelda, in the province of Pordenone, is a unique place in the world: it is home to Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo (VCR), the largest entity in the world for the production of vine cuttings. Every year, millions of young plants destined for vineyards on all continents depart from this Friulian village. It is precisely in this context that Le Radici del Vino, the agricultural fair dedicated to excellent viticulture, was born.

A fair between science and tradition

The event, organized by the Le Radici del Vino association in collaboration with the Municipality of San Giorgio della Richinvelda, is much more than a local festival: it is a true viticulture fair, with a focus on sustainability and cultivation innovation. Therefore, there is space for conferences, technical meetings, and guided tours of the VCR Research Center, where you can discover how the vines of the future are born and selected.

The taste of Friuli

Alongside the scientific soul, there is the convivial and food and wine aspect. The Laboratori del Gusto (Tasting Workshops) offer thematic journeys through wines, the Arena del Gusto (Taste Arena) serves traditional Friulian dishes, and the Piazza dei Sapori (Square of Flavors) brings together typical regional products. The Ribolla Gialla Festival, with its competition dedicated to this symbolic Friulian grape variety, is also present.

Among the vineyards, celebrating

The event is designed for everyone: there is the artisan exhibition on Sunday, a children's area with activities and shows, concerts, and a tourist train to the VCR Research Center. To conclude the celebration, the walk through the vineyards on Sunday, a walk that crosses the rows of Rauscedo in the heart of the Pordenone plain, among the vines that have made this corner of Friuli famous worldwide.
