Zucchero e Cannella is the event that officially kicks off the Christmas season in Ostuni, the renowned White City overlooking the Upper Salento in the province of Brindisi, Puglia. Every year, in the first days of December, the city center streets fill with white wooden chalets—perfectly in harmony with the town's signature whitewashed walls—transforming the area into a festive path of lights, flavors, and seasonal scents.

Flavors, crafts, and music

The heart of the event is the Christmas market set up along Viale Pola and Piazza Italia: stalls featuring local artisans, artists, and producers offer handmade items, decorations, gift ideas, and traditional Puglian gastronomic specialties. Alongside the stalls, visitors can enjoy live music, street performances, children's workshops, and light installations that create a warm and engaging atmosphere.

A growing tradition

Founded in 2015 by the La Ghironda association with the patronage of the Municipality of Ostuni, Zucchero e Cannella has become one of the most anticipated Advent events in the Brindisi area. Editions have taken place across Viale Pola, Piazza Italia, and the historic center, featuring concerts, fire shows, orchestras, and theater workshops that successfully combine the promotion of local producers with the charm of Christmas in the White City.
