Christmas arrives by motorcycle

In Trentola Ducenta, in the province of Caserta, Christmas doesn't arrive on a sleigh but on two wheels. Every December, over a hundred motorcyclists dressed as Santa Claus meet to ride through the city in a long, colorful parade, accompanied by the roar of engines, lights, and Christmas music. Santa Claus on a Motorcycle began as a charity initiative by the municipal administration and has already become one of the most anticipated events in the city's Christmas calendar.

A parade starting from the Cottolengo

The heart of the event is not the parade itself, but its first stop: the Cottolengo of Trentola Ducenta. Here, the Santa Claus motorcyclists stop to deliver gifts and sweets to the facility's residents, in a moment that brings smiles and emotion every year. It is from this gesture that the event draws its most authentic meaning: bringing the celebration where it is needed most, dedicating attention to those living in more fragile conditions. Only after this stop does the procession resume its march toward the city center.

The Christmas village in Piazza Giovanni Paolo II

The caravan of motorized Santas then reaches Piazza Giovanni Paolo II, in front of the church of San Michele Arcangelo, where a real Santa Claus village is set up for the occasion. The square fills with families and children for an afternoon of celebration that includes:

• snow effects and Christmas scenery in the heart of the city center;
• Christmas carols and music playing in the square;
• photos with the Santa Clauses and the motorcycles on display;
• entertainment and games for the little ones;
• the distribution of panettone to the children present, a symbol of the administration's attention to the younger generation.

Who organizes the event

The initiative is promoted by the Municipal Administration of Trentola Ducenta, and in particular by the Department of Culture, together with the Circolo Interforze. The absolute stars of the parade are the Falchi Rossi motorcycle association, led by Carabinieri Lieutenant Giuseppe Chiatto, who has long been committed to local charity events and initiatives dedicated to children and people in difficulty. Mayor Michele Apicella also actively participates in the day along with municipal administrators, who mingle with the Santa Clauses and share the celebration in the square with families.

A young tradition that is growing

Though recently established, the event has consolidated rapidly: the December 2025 edition was the second consecutive one and confirmed the effectiveness of the collaboration between the Municipality and the Falchi Rossi. The public success and the participation of motorcyclists, who also arrived from neighboring towns in the Agro Aversano area, make Santa Claus on a Motorcycle an event destined to repeat and grow year after year.
