A widespread Christmas celebration across six towns in the Agro Aversano area, featuring events in Casaluce

A Magical Christmas is the inter-municipal festival that lights up the holiday season in the Agro Aversano, a cluster of towns north of Naples in the province of Caserta, Campania. Funded by the Campania Region and coordinated by the network of municipalities with San Cipriano d'Aversa as the lead, the program features over twenty free events distributed across Casaluce, Casapesenna, Frignano, San Cipriano d'Aversa, San Marcellino, and Villa di Briano. The concept is a shared Christmas that brings the festivities to the squares and landmarks of each town rather than concentrating them in a single center.
The town of Casaluce hosts some of the most heartfelt stages of the festival. Piazza Statuto, the heart of local life, hosts children's entertainment and tastings of local products, while the closing concert is held in the intimate Sanctuary of the Madonna di Casaluce, one of the most precious buildings in the area. Music, games, street performers, and local flavors mark the days in an atmosphere designed for families and those wishing to rediscover the traditions of the Caserta region.
The program ranges from gospel choirs to classical and sacred music, from traveling bands to comedy shows, and musical performances of the Neapolitan tradition. Past editions have featured the Choir of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the voice of Mario Maglione, the comedy of Mino Abbacuccio, and numerous local choral and band groups, always accompanied by workshops and entertainment for children.
The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Casaluce, built within an ancient castle, houses a perfectly functional 18th-century Neapolitan organ and a cycle of frescoes from the Giotto school. It is a treasure trove of art and devotion that, during the festival, becomes the ideal setting for Christmas concerts, combining the spiritual value of the site with the quality of the musical performances.
The common thread of the initiative is the promotion of traditions and typical products linked to the Mediterranean gastronomic culture of the Agro Aversano. Tastings accompany almost all events, offering visitors the chance to savor local specialties in a festive atmosphere.
A small town just a few kilometers from Aversa, Casaluce is part of the province of Caserta and maintains a strong bond with its rural and religious roots. With A Magical Christmas, the town and its neighbors relaunch a model of shared celebration that strengthens the identity of the entire Agro Aversano, inviting residents and visitors to experience the Christmas season among the squares, churches, and flavors of Campania.
The 2026 edition of A Magical Christmas has not yet been officially announced. The festival, funded by the Campania Region and shared by the municipalities of the Agro Aversano, is traditionally held in December. The detailed program, including events in Casaluce, will be published by the organizers closer to the holidays.
Casaluce is located in the province of Caserta, about 20 km north of Naples and 13 km from Caserta. By car, it can be reached from the Aversa/Casaluce exit; the nearest train stations are in Aversa. Events take place in Piazza Statuto and at the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Casaluce (Piazza Castello).
All festival events are free to attend. The schedule is published by the promoting municipalities and local press in the weeks leading up to the holidays.
