The Patron Saint of Carnia

San Giacomo — San Jacum in the local dialect — is the patron saint of Paluzza, an important village in the upper Val But on the road to the Monte Croce Carnico Pass. His feast, the Sagra di San Jacum, takes place in July and transforms the village into a large meeting place: several days of music, food, and fun that renew a tradition deeply felt by the Carnia community.

Music, Market, and Games

The program alternates evenings of live music — with dance orchestras, folk groups, and DJs — with the large San Jacum market, which fills the village streets with stalls on Sundays. Among the most enjoyable events are the human table football tournament, art exhibitions, and numerous entertainment moments for all ages.

The culinary heart of the festival is the food stalls, where you can taste the specialties of Carnia cuisine: herb cjarsòns — the typical sweet and savory ravioli of Carnia — grilled meats, wurst, french fries, sandwiches, and wild berry semifreddos.
