The Campiglione patronal festival, blending devotion, music, and tradition in the Pellice Valley
The San Giovanni Battista Patronal Festival is the most anticipated event of the year for Campiglione Fenile, a small town of just over 1,300 residents nestled in the Pellice Valley, within the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont. San Giovanni Battista is the patron saint of the main town (the parish of Campiglione is dedicated to him), and his feast day falls on June 24th; around this date, the Pro Loco Campiglione Fenile organizes a large secular celebration that spans five days in late June.
This is a village festival in the truest sense of the word: no pharaonic stages, just plenty of participation, conviviality, and tradition. The heart of the event is the town's sports facilities, which for a few evenings transform into the community's main gathering point. The program varies from year to year and always features free admission:
Alongside the festivities, the event retains its religious dimension: the parish of San Giovanni Battista, in the Diocese of Pinerolo, celebrates the patron saint with traditional services. The festival thus becomes an occasion for the entire townโfounded in 1928 through the merger of the two ancient municipalities of Campiglione and Fenileโto reconnect with its roots.
Visiting Campiglione Fenile during the patronal festival is also a way to discover a quiet, off-the-beaten-path corner of the Pinerolo area, about forty kilometers from Turin, set among the hills and orchards of the plains at the foot of the Cottian Alps. An ideal destination for those seeking the authentic atmosphere of Piedmontese village festivals, far from the major tourist circuits.
The Pro Loco Campiglione Fenile has announced the San Giovanni Battista patronal festivities from June 26 to 30, 2026, spread over five evenings at the town's sports facilities in the Pellice Valley (Metropolitan City of Turin).
As per tradition, a free-admission program is expected, featuring music and dance evenings, dinners prepared by volunteers, entertainment and bouncy castles for children, and motorcycle rallies. The festival follows the celebrations of the Fenile district, marking the second of the two patronal festivals in the municipality.
The detailed day-by-day program, including musical guests and evening schedules, will be published by the Pro Loco in the days leading up to the event on the Instagram profile @prolococampiglionefenile. For information and reservations: +39 346 3625285.
