About Rocca da Bere

Rocca da Bere is the summer enotourism and cultural program that enlivens the medieval fortress of Offagna, one of Italy's most beautiful villages in the province of Ancona. From June to September, the majestic 15th-century fortress becomes the setting for guided tours combined with wine tastings from the Rosso Conero region. An experience that unites the discovery of the village's historical heritage with the taste of typical Marche products, featuring glasses of wine, local cheeses, and cured meats.

History and wine within the fortress walls

Rocca da Bere is the summer enotourism and cultural enhancement event that, from June to September, enlivens the Fortress of Offagna, in the heart of the medieval village in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. The initiative was created to offer visitors an authentic "journey through history and wine," combining the discovery of the fortress with tastings of wines from the Conero region, in a union that tells the story of Offagna's identity.

The Fortress of Offagna

Built in the second half of the 15th century as a defensive outpost for the Republic of Ancona, the Fortress of Offagna is one of the best-preserved fortresses in the Marche region. Its imposing walls, keep, and walkways offer a suggestive view of the Conero hills stretching to the Adriatic Sea. During Rocca da Bere, the guided tour takes visitors through the rooms and underground passages of the fortress, recounting its pre-Renaissance origins and its role in the village's history.

Tasting of Conero wines

After the visit, the experience continues with a tasting dedicated to the region's oenological excellences. In collaboration with the Vigna della Cava winery, located in Offagna within the Rosso Conero area, participants will taste three representative labels:

  • the IGT Marche Bianco "Magia";
  • the rosé IGT Marche "Flò";
  • the DOC Rosso Conero "Corniolo".

The wines are paired with local cheeses and cured meats, for a journey of taste that dialogues with the winemaking tradition of the Marche and the flavors of the Ancona hinterland.

A village to experience

Recognized among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Offagna offers much more than its fortress: medieval alleys, historic palaces, museums, and a lively summer of events. Rocca da Bere is part of the rich summer calendar of the Municipality of Offagna, alongside other events that attract visitors from all over the Marche region each year, and it is an ideal opportunity for those seeking a slow and authentic experience, away from the coastal crowds.

Useful information

The event takes place throughout the entire summer season with scheduled appointments. Booking is mandatory: for times, availability, and participation methods, it is advisable to contact the Offagna Museum Complex or the Vigna della Cava winery.
