The cultural season of the Aosta Valley
The Saison Culturelle is the historic series that, for over forty years, has marked the cultural life of the Aosta Valley. Promoted by the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley through its cultural activities department, it runs from October to April with its heart in Aosta, at the Splendor Theatre and the Cinéma Théâtre de la Ville, and with events also held in other venues across the region.
Three sections, one great season
The programme is divided into three main sections:
- Spectacle — drama theatre, comedy, musicals, dance, opera, and various types of concerts, with around twenty or more shows per season, including some productions selected through a call for proposals reserved for Aosta Valley artists
- Cinéma — about fifty auteur films screened at the Cinéma Théâtre de la Ville in Aosta
- Littérature — literary encounters at the Splendor Theatre, with authors and journalists, covering fiction, non-fiction, and current affairs
Big names and local roots
Each year, the Saison alternates protagonists of the national and international scene — from auteur music to theatre, from dance to opera — with a specific focus on the artistic realities of the territory. This is its "beautiful anomaly": a quality season that thrives in a small but culturally vibrant region, capable of attracting thousands of spectators each year.
An identity event
Bilingual in spirit, like the Aosta Valley, the Saison Culturelle is much more than a programme: it is the way the Region tells its own story through culture, accompanying the public throughout the winter and into spring. For visitors to Aosta during the cold months, it is the best gateway to the Aosta Valley's cultural scene.
Saison Culturelle — edition 2026
The 41st edition of the Saison Culturelle, the 2025/2026 season, enlivens Aosta from October to April with a rich programme. The Spectacle section offers over twenty shows including theatre, comedy, dance, opera, and concerts at the Splendor Theatre; the Cinéma section presents about fifty auteur films at the Cinéma Théâtre de la Ville; the Littérature section hosts encounters with authors and journalists. Among the season's highlights are Carmen Consoli (December 13, 2025), Claudio Bisio with "La mia vita raccontata male" (February 21, 2026), and Goran Bregović, who will close the season on April 18, 2026.

How to get there
The Splendor Theatre and the Cinéma Théâtre de la Ville are located in the centre of Aosta, reachable by car from the A5 motorway (Aosta exit) and by train with the city station, just a few minutes' walk away.

From October to April. The 41st edition (2025/2026 season) closes on April 18, 2026, at the Splendor Theatre.
