As the Friulian summer gets into full swing, in Martignacco, just outside Udine, one of the longest-running and most beloved summer festivals comes to life: Sagre d'Avost, primarily known as the Festa della Tagliata. With over fifty years of history, the event transforms the Parco Festeggiamenti behind the Duomo into a large meeting point for thousands of people, offering good food and plenty of music.

The signature dish is the grilled meat tagliata, expertly prepared and over the years it has become the true draw of the festival. Sagre d'Avost is organized by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Pro Scuola Materna F. Deciani (Festival Committee for the F. Deciani Kindergarten): the proceeds from the event support the local kindergarten.
