Rosso di Rose, the spring of Viarigi
Every year, between May and early June, the Municipality of Viarigi — a hillside village in the province of Asti, in the heart of the Monferrato region of Piedmont — dedicates an entire month to the Rosso di Rose festival. This event highlights the village's signature flower and its extraordinary Giardino Diffuso, an urban regeneration project that turns streets, courtyards, and hidden corners of the village into thematic "green rooms," with approximately 500 varieties of roses serving as the common thread.
Culture, nature, and biodiversity
Rosso di Rose is more than just a flower festival: it is a comprehensive cultural event featuring book presentations, expert talks, art exhibitions, and culinary experiences. The beating heart of the initiatives is the Civic Library on Via Calvi 45, complemented by the outdoor spaces of the Giardino Diffuso and evocative venues such as the Church of San Silverio and the Signal Tower (Torre dei Segnali), which host exhibitions and guided walks.
The "In the Name of the Rose" walks guide visitors through the world of roses, eco-friendly plants, and the importance of pollinating insects, in a journey that combines botanical education with landscape contemplation. Literary meetings range from science to the environment, with guests who have brought reflections on nature, sustainability, and the future of the territory to Viarigi over the years.

L'edizione 2026 della rassegna si è svolta a Viarigi (AT) dal 7 maggio al 2 giugno, confermando la formula che unisce cultura, natura e valorizzazione del Giardino Diffuso con le sue circa 500 varietà di rose. Tra Biblioteca Civica e spazi all'aperto del borgo monferrino, il programma ha alternato presentazioni di libri, conferenze divulgative, mostre d'arte e momenti enogastronomici curati dalla Pro Loco.

14 maggio — Biblioteca Civica
- Conferenza "La coltivazione dell'olivo in Monferrato e le prospettive future", con il professor Giancarlo Durando
16 maggio — "Nel Nome della Rosa 2026"
Giornata principale della rassegna, in concomitanza con i vent'anni di Golosaria tra i Castelli del Monferrato (16-17 maggio):
- Mostre d'arte nel borgo
- Passeggiate guidate nel Giardino Diffuso tra le rose
- Degustazioni di prodotti tipici del Monferrato
- Laboratorio sulla creazione di bordure con materiali naturali
21 maggio — Biblioteca Civica
- Presentazione del libro "Cronache da un pianeta confuso" di Ludovico Del Vecchio
28 maggio — Biblioteca Civica
- Incontro "La pianta giusta nel posto giusto. Meno fatica e più risultati", con Corrado Sacco, Elena Maggiora e Lorenzo Lampertico
2 giugno — Chiusura
- Presentazione del libro "L'orsa che mangiava le ciliegie. La natura ritorna" di Mauro Balboni, che dedica un capitolo proprio al Giardino Diffuso di Viarigi
Nel corso della rassegna è stata inoltre allestita la personale di pittura di Piergiorgio Panelli, con tele esposte nella suggestiva Chiesa di San Silverio.

Where
