About Visioni Stellate

Visioni Stellate is a touring open-air cinema festival promoted by the APS Requiem For a Film as part of the Radici Urbane festival. From May to September 2026, over twenty evenings bring the big screen under the stars to Alessandria and numerous towns across the province in Piedmont. The debut takes place in Masio at Salita Torre, with the caravan continuing through Frugarolo, Fubine Monferrato, Felizzano, Pasturana, Quattordio, Solero, and Oviglio, featuring auteur films, documentaries, and meetings with directors, almost always with free admission.

Open-air cinema traveling through the province of Alessandria

Visioni Stellate is a touring open-air cinema festival that, during the summer of 2026, brings the big screen to the squares and outdoor spaces of Alessandria and numerous towns in its province, in Piedmont. Promoted by the Requiem For a Film association as part of the Radici Urbane festival, the event aims to bring high-quality cinema to the public in a convivial atmosphere under the starry summer sky.

A caravan starting from Masio

The festival's journey begins in Masio, a small town in the Monferrato area in the province of Alessandria, at Salita Torre. From here, the screenings move from town to town following a widespread calendar that, with over twenty evenings, accompanies the summer from May until September. The towns involved include, in addition to Alessandria and Masio, Frugarolo, Fubine Monferrato, Felizzano, Pasturana, Quattordio, Solero, and Oviglio: a mosaic of locations that become open-air cinemas.

Auteur films, documentaries, and meetings with authors

The offerings of Visioni Stellate go beyond simple screenings: the festival weaves together auteur films, documentaries, and titles capable of stimulating reflection, often accompanied by the presence of the directors and moments of discussion with the audience. The opening night, for example, features a documentary with the author present, following a format that values direct dialogue between cinema and spectators.

  • Touring: over twenty evenings distributed between Alessandria and eight towns in the province.
  • Admission: most screenings are free of charge.
  • Meetings: screenings accompanied by the presence of directors and guests.
  • Special format: a special appointment is also scheduled for September at the DLF Drive-In.

A cultural project for the territory

Visioni Stellate is the touring offshoot of Radici Urbane, the multidisciplinary festival that enlivens the Chiostro di Santa Maria di Castello in Alessandria every year. With this widespread festival, the Requiem For a Film association extends its cultural offering to the entire province, supported by the Municipality of Alessandria and realized with the Associazione Cultura e Sviluppo and the Fondazione SociAL, with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Province of Alessandria, and the Youth Council of Alessandria.

Why attend

For those visiting the Monferrato area and the province of Alessandria in the summer, Visioni Stellate is the perfect opportunity to experience a different kind of evening: a good film, the evening air, and the authentic setting of Piedmontese villages. A high-quality, free event designed to bring communities and visitors together around the magic of open-air cinema.
