Rometta's neighbourhood festival in Sassuolo, featuring music, markets, and workshops
The Rometta City Festival is much more than just a day of outdoor shopping: it's the festival with which the Rometta neighbourhood, in the Municipality of Sassuolo (province of Modena, in Emilia-Romagna), tells its story and comes together. Organized by the Rometta Shopkeepers Committee together with the Association Il Giardino di Karl APS, the municipal administration, and numerous local entities, the event transforms the streets around Largo Verona โ with the adjacent streets Gorizia, Fanti, Mameli, and Fratelli Cairoli โ and Parco Ottavio Tassi into a large shared space where shops, associations, and families meet.
From morning until late evening, the Rometta and Largo Verona area hosts a packed, entirely outdoor programme:
The first edition of the City Festival was held in 2018, followed by one in 2019; then the pandemic interrupted its course. It was the shopkeepers of Rometta themselves who strongly desired the revival of the event, brought back to life in 2025 and now a regular fixture on the Sassuolo calendar. The festival is completely free and designed for all ages, a symbol of the vitality of a neighbourhood that has chosen to get involved and make itself known well beyond the borders of Sassuolo.
Known worldwide as the Italian capital of ceramics and tiles, Sassuolo is an active and industrious city at the foot of the Modenese Apennines, overlooking the Secchia river. Events like the Rometta City Festival showcase a more intimate and community-focused side of the city, built on neighbourly relations, small businesses, and associations.
For the 2026 edition, the Rometta City Festival expanded its spaces, encompassing not only Largo Verona but also the nearby Parco Ottavio Tassi. From 8:30 AM to 11:30 PM, the Rometta neighbourhood in Sassuolo transformed into a large festival area for all ages, featuring open shops, a Tuscan market, arts and crafts stalls, street food, a vinyl market, and a rich area dedicated to children. The day combined sports, culture, gastronomy, and music in a packed and completely free programme.
The live concert by Marco Baroni with "La linea del tempo" at 5:30 PM and the long sequence of DJ sets until 11:30 PM at Largo Verona. Also not to be missed are the sports demonstrations at Parco Ottavio Tassi and the free workshops for children.
