The festival of flavors and engines in the land of the Prancing Horse
The Grand Prix of Taste is the food and wine event that enlivens the center of Maranello, in the province of Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, every autumn. In a single Sunday, Piazza Libertà and the town center streets — Via Stradi, Via Nazionale, and Via Claudia — transform into a large open-air market where local producers showcase and offer tastings of their finest products. The name is a clear tribute to the soul of Maranello, the symbolic city of Ferrari: here, the taste of typical products and the passion for engines coexist in the same square.
The absolute stars are the products that have made Emilian gastronomy famous: Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Lambrusco, gnocco fritto, nocino, and sour cherries. The heart of the festival is the Taste Route, which allows visitors to purchase a ticket for five tastings of the best local specialties, moving from stand to stand among the agricultural and artisanal producers.
Throughout the day, there are cooking shows with local chefs and Lady Chefs, presentations dedicated to hand-cutting Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh pasta workshops designed for children, and demonstrations that tell the story of Emilian peasant culture, from interactive grape harvesting to the "forest market." There are also moments of folklore, with a historical costume parade and the accompaniment of marching bands that liven up the town center streets.
Consistent with Maranello's identity, the festival dedicates ample space to engines: exhibitions of Ferrari cars, vintage and modern tractors, vintage engines, and curious themed installations. It's an opportunity to discover how, in this part of Emilia, the culture of food and mechanics have intertwined to become a single, globally recognized identity.
Open-air shopping, markets, musical entertainment, and areas dedicated to children make the Grand Prix of Taste an event suitable for all ages. Admission to the event is free: only the ticket for tastings and any special menus offered by the stands are paid for. An ideal appointment for those who want to get to know the authentic flavors of the province of Modena up close, just a stone's throw from the Ferrari Museum.
The 2026 edition of the Grand Prix of Taste, the 24th, returns to Maranello on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The festival confirms its usual location, with Piazza Libertà as the hub and the town center streets — Via Stradi, Via Nazionale, and Via Claudia — enlivened by stands, tastings, and open-air shopping.
For this edition too, the stars will be the gastronomic excellences of the region: Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano, Lambrusco, gnocco fritto, and Emilian cuisine, with the usual Taste Route, cooking shows, cooking workshops for children, and exhibitions of engines and Ferraris. The event is organized by the Maranello Terra del Mito Consortium in collaboration with the Municipality of Maranello.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event, on the website of the Maranello Terra del Mito Consortium and the Municipality of Maranello.
Based on previous editions, the day typically includes these sections:
