Romantic Night in Petralia Soprana

Every year, as summer approaches, Petralia Soprana joins the Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, a national event inviting visitors to celebrate love among the stones, alleys, and panoramas of the peninsula's historic villages. Perched at over a thousand meters above sea level in the heart of the Madonie Park, in the province of Palermo, the village offers an exceptional setting: stone squares, noble palaces, and breathtaking views of the valley that, for one night, light up with soft glows and intimate atmospheres.

A choral event of Italian villages

The event is promoted by the I Borghi più belli d'Italia Association, which brings together hundreds of small historic centers from all regions of the country, from the Aosta Valley to Sicily. On the same evening, over two hundred villages host concerts, live performances, readings, photo exhibitions, and art installations, culminating in the symbolic midnight kiss that ideally unites all the participating squares. The essence of the initiative lies in the promotion of local heritage and traditions, interpreted each year around a specific theme.

The program in the Madonie village

In Petralia Soprana, the Romantic Night is organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality, in collaboration with local associations and businesses. The evening unfolds throughout the historic center with several recurring highlights:

• Poetry for the Village: readings and literary inspirations at the panoramic Belvedere di Loreto;
• aperitifs and romantic-themed menus curated by local bars and restaurants;
• music and dancing in the square, with live entertainment;
• shops and workshops open for evening shopping among the illuminated alleys.

Madonie, between nature and tradition

The Romantic Night is also an opportunity to discover Petralia Soprana and the entire Madonie region in Sicily: a mountain territory filled with forests, trails, local products, and medieval villages. The evening, held near the summer solstice, ideally inaugurates the village's summer season, often accompanied by further cultural and entertainment initiatives in the following days.
