About Rock im Ring

Rock im Ring is South Tyrol's premier rock festival. For over thirty years, it has brought the Renon Plateau to life with two days of live music at the Ritten Arena in Collalbo, set at an altitude of over 1,100 metres with stunning views of the Dolomites. Across two stages, more than twenty-five national and international acts perform a mix of rock, punk, alternative, metal, and crossover, alongside the best of the local South Tyrolean music scene. An open-air event featuring a large campsite and food stalls, it is a summer staple for music lovers.

Rock im Ring: The great rock festival of Renon

Rock im Ring is the most famous rock music event in South Tyrol and one of the most anticipated summer highlights in the province of Bolzano. Established in 1994 by the Kulturverein TonArt cultural association, the festival takes place on the Renon Plateau, in the municipality of Renon/Ritten. Over the years, it has evolved from a small local gathering into a nationally recognized event, with over 500 artists having graced its stages to date.

A stage at over 1,100 metres in the Dolomites

The festival is hosted at the Ritten Arena in Collalbo/Klobenstein, on Via Zaberbach. Located at an altitude of over 1,100 metres, it offers an expansive panorama of the Dolomites. The combination of live music and alpine scenery makes Rock im Ring a unique experience on the Italian festival circuit: two days in the open air, two stages, and more than twenty-five bands spanning rock, punk, alternative, metal, and crossover.

Programming and atmosphere

The festival's formula balances international headliners with emerging talent, while also showcasing the best of the South Tyrolean music scene. In addition to the concerts, the site features a large campsite, food stalls serving local and international specialties, and dedicated areas for fans to connect, all in a festive atmosphere that continues late into the night with the traditional Late Night Specials.

A festival defining South Tyrolean identity

Entirely organized by volunteers from the TonArt association, Rock im Ring has become a cornerstone of youth cultural identity in South Tyrol and the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The bilingual setting of Renon, where Italian and German cultures coexist, is reflected in both the audience and the performing bands, who hail from both Italy and the German-speaking world.
