The Eggentaler Herbst Classic — Oldtimer Rallye is one of the most highly regarded vintage car gatherings in the Alps. It takes place every autumn in Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, a municipality in the Ega Valley (Eggental) in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-South Tyrol region. The event is based at the Ganischgerhof Mountain Resort & SPA, which also manages its organization, and takes crews over hundreds of kilometers through some of the most scenic passes and valleys of the Dolomites.
Regularity trials and routes in the Dolomites
The race consists of a prologue and several stages that combine regularity, average speed, and fixed-time trials. Each crew receives a roadbook and navigation charts to tackle the itinerary, which touches Dolomite passes, scenic mountain roads, and the wine-growing areas of South Tyrol. As the organizers emphasize, while the sporting commitment and the prizes are important, fun and conviviality remain at the heart of the experience.
Evenings, galas, and elegance
Alongside the road trials, the program features atmospheric social moments: a Tyrolean evening at the Ganischgerhof alpine pasture, a gala aperitif with the awards ceremony, and the rally-end party. There is also a Concours d'Élégance in the center of Nova Ponente, dedicated to the most refined vehicles. The rally regularly attracts over a hundred historic cars, drawing enthusiasts from all over Europe.
An autumn appointment in the Ega Valley
With the larch foliage and the Dolomite peaks in the background, the Eggentaler Herbst Classic has become a permanent fixture in the autumn calendar of the Ega Valley and South Tyrol. Those not participating in the race can still admire the cars at the start and finish, as well as during the Concours d'Élégance in the village.
Eggentaler Herbst Classic — edition 2026
The 21st edition of the Eggentaler Herbst Classic is scheduled from October 8 to 11, 2026 in Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, based at the Ganischgerhof Mountain Resort. The program includes pre-rally events starting as early as October 5: a guided geological excursion in the Bletterbach Geopark, a golf tournament at the Golf Club Petersberg, and a guided tour for historic cars.
Early check-in with the delivery of starting numbers and documents is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, followed by the Welcome Evening at the Ganis Resort. On Thursday, October 8, technical checks and the prologue begin; the following days offer stages with regularity and fixed-time trials along the Dolomite passes and wine-growing areas. The evenings culminate with the gala aperitif, the awards ceremony, the gala dinner, and the rally-end party.

How to get there
From the A22 Brenner motorway, take the Bolzano Sud/Bozen Süd exit, then follow the SS241 along the Ega Valley towards Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen (about 20 km from Bolzano). Nova Ponente is also accessible by South Tyrolean public buses.
