About Ritorno a Bindis

Ritorno a Bindis is a historical and cultural re-enactment that brings the village of Mori Vecio, the ancient heart of the Municipality of Mori in the Vallagarina valley (Trentino-Alto Adige), back to life every year. For two evenings, the historic streets, porticoes, and Piazza Santa Maria a Bindis come alive with exhibitions, theatrical performances, live music, and a food and wine tour through local wineries. This free-entry event weaves together the reconstruction of memory, community identity, and contemporary storytelling tools.

Ritorno a Bindis: the village of Mori Vecio rediscovers its roots

Ritorno a Bindis is a historical and cultural re-enactment held in the ancient heart of Mori Vecio, a historic district of the Municipality of Mori, in the Vallagarina valley, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Every year, for two evenings, the narrow streets of the village, its porticoes, and the charming Piazza Santa Maria a Bindis are transformed into a widespread journey dedicated to the community's memory and the daily life of the town before the Great War.

A journey into the village's memory

The common thread of the event is the reconstruction of the urban identity and daily life of Mori Vecio, blending historical research with contemporary narrative tools. The heart of the most recent edition is a photographic exhibition of ten panels created with the help of artificial intelligence, which guides visitors through the symbolic places of the village: the Forno, the Piaza de la Cesa, el Torcio, the Travaia, and Via San Giovanni. A visual path that restores the atmosphere of a bygone era, between glimpses of history and evocative suggestions.

Shows, theater, and live music

The program combines culture and entertainment in every corner of the village. Among the most anticipated events is the theatrical performance "L'Oro di Mori", staged in the Parco di Villa Annamaria, and numerous itinerant musical performances ranging from acoustic pop-rock to ballroom dancing, enlivening the town's squares and porticoes. There is no shortage of traditional choirs, contemporary music performances, and old-fashioned games ("I zoghi de na volta") for both adults and children.

  • Exhibitions: photographic exhibition on symbolic places and the exhibition dedicated to fellow citizen Germano Baldo, surveyor and painter, set up in the Ex-Galetera
  • Theater: "L'Oro di Mori" at Parco di Villa Annamaria
  • Music: itinerant performances, ballroom dancing, choirs, and contemporary music
  • Tradition: folk games, memory, and community life

The food and wine itinerary

Under the characteristic porticoes of the village, a tasting trail comes to life with welcome aperitifs, traditional dishes, and local wines, thanks to the participation of four wineries from the Vallagarina area. A way to discover the authentic flavors of Trentino while walking through the stones and history of Mori Vecio.

A community event

Ritorno a Bindis is organized by Carnevale Mori Vecio APS, the ARCA Association, and the Circolo Operaio Rurale Mori Vecio, with the patronage of the Municipality of Mori and the Vallagarina Community, and the collaboration of the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino, GARDA Trentino, and the Pro Loco Mori-Val di Gresta. The event is free to enter and represents one of the most heartfelt appointments for the Mori community, capable of uniting multiple generations around the shared memory of their village.
