The convivial preview of ReWine at the headquarters of the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani
In the municipality of Salerano Canavese, a small village in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the heart of the Canavese, the opening evening of ReWine Canavese transforms Vineria Caino on Via Cavour 3 — home to the Associazione Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani (GVC) — into the festival's convivial headquarters. The event, titled 'GVC & Caino On Fire', is the most intimate and relaxed version of an event that has made Canavese wine its hallmark.
The evening features wines signed by the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani paired with food from Vineria Caino: an informal dinner that brings together labels from emerging Canavese producers with the house dishes. It is a chance to get to know the winemakers up close, hear their stories, and get a preview of what the weekend will bring to the tasting tables in Ivrea. Limited seating: the event is by reservation only.
ReWine was created to promote a wine region often overshadowed by the Langhe and Monferrato, yet one with great personality. The Canavese, at the foot of the Alps between Turin and the Aosta Valley, is the home of Erbaluce, an indigenous white grape variety produced in still, sparkling, and passito versions, as well as reds like Carema made from Nebbiolo grapes. The festival, reaching its sixth edition in 2026, showcases a young and dynamic alpine viticulture.
The Salerano evening kicks off a program that continues in Ivrea: a conference at the Teatro Giacosa and, as a grand finale, the tasting trail and masterclasses at the Castle of Ivrea. The Salerano stop remains the warmest and most familiar meeting point, designed for those who want to experience the behind-the-scenes of the Giovani Vignaioli Canavesani.
