Two days of celebration for the queen of the Asti hills
Every year, at the beginning of June, the small town of Revigliasco d'Asti, in the Province of Asti (Piedmont), transforms into the capital of the cherry. The Cherry Festival, organized by the Pro Loco of Revigliasco d'Asti, gathers locals and visitors in Piazza Garons for two days dedicated to the red fruit that has been the symbol of these hills for generations. Historically, Revigliasco was known for its renowned cherry market, now replaced by this festival which keeps its memory and rural tradition alive.
The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls, where the cherry becomes the star of the table. The signature dishes of the event are the surprising cherry risotto and the mixed vegetarian fry, accompanied by a bar service offering aperitifs, cocktails, and gin. Everything takes place in a convivial, open-air atmosphere, typical of the best Piedmontese festivals.
The most significant moment regarding local identity is the Solemn Investiture of the New Knights of the Cherry Brotherhood, held on Sunday morning after Holy Mass. The Brotherhood safeguards the local cherry-growing culture and maintains a cherry orchard where visitors can taste freshly picked fruit. Alongside the official ritual, there are lighter, more popular moments, such as the election of Miss Cherry and the playful Cherry Pit Spitting Contest, complete with prizes for participants.
In recent years, the Cherry Bike Tour has been added to the festivalโa guided bike ride through the hills of Revigliasco that allows participants to discover the landscape of the Asti Monferrato before returning to the square for the festivities. It is a way to combine a passion for food and wine with slow tourism and a love for the territory.
Fashion shows, DJ sets, lively evenings, and specialties to enjoy outdoors make the Revigliasco d'Asti Cherry Festival a favorite for all ages. Entry is free: you only pay for what you eat and drink. An ideal stop for those who want to experience the authentic atmosphere of Asti's village festivals.
The 23rd Cherry Festival of Revigliasco d'Asti was held over the weekend of June 6-7, 2026, in Piazza Garons, organized by the local Pro Loco. The program combined gastronomic tradition, rural identity, and entertainment, confirming the event as one of the most beloved festivals in the Asti region.
On both evenings, the bar service is active with gin, aperitifs, cocktails, and prizes.
