The festival of rare and fine honeys in the heart of the Roero region
Amél'Amèl – Honey Festival is the grand event that brings the historic center of Sommariva del Bosco to life every September. A town in the province of Cuneo known as the "Gateway to the Roero" and considered a small capital of rare and fine honeys. For four days, the town dresses up for the occasion and becomes the "City of Bees," welcoming beekeepers, producers, experts, and curious visitors around an absolute protagonist: honey.
The festival was created to raise awareness about the world of bees and the beekeeping excellence of Piedmont, highlighting the work of beekeepers and promoting the culture of honey, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. Along the streets and squares of the center, exhibitor stalls are set up, where it is possible to taste and purchase single-flower honeys, hive products, and local gastronomic specialties.
With dozens of exhibitors from all over Italy, Amél'Amèl has established itself over the years as one of the most anticipated events on the Piedmontese food and wine calendar dedicated to honey. The event is organized by the Municipality of Sommariva del Bosco and represents an opportunity to discover not only honey but also the beauty of the Roero, a land of vineyards, castles, and farming traditions. A stroll through the stalls in the historic center is a journey into the flavors, scents, and colors of a territory that has made beekeeping a true identity.
In 2026, the Honey Festival of Sommariva del Bosco reaches the milestone of its twentieth edition, scheduled from September 10 to 13. Four days that confirm the identity of the event: tastings of single-flower honeys and hive products, specialist conferences on beekeeping, educational workshops, show cooking with local chefs, and moments of music and entertainment along the streets of the historic center, in the heart of the Roero in the province of Cuneo.
The complete program, with times, guests, and day-by-day appointments, will be announced by the organization in the weeks preceding the event through the official website and the channels of the Municipality of Sommariva del Bosco.
Sommariva del Bosco is located in the province of Cuneo, in the Roero region. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (exit Carmagnola/Marene) and from the provincial network connecting Bra, Carmagnola, and Racconigi. By train, the Sommariva del Bosco station is served by the Turin-Cavallermaggiore-Cuneo line.
Access to the stalls and the streets of the event is generally free; some initiatives such as guided tastings, themed dinners, and workshops may require booking or a contribution. It is advisable to check times and details on the official festival website and the Municipality's website.
The event takes place in the historic center: it is best to park in the outer areas and reach the squares on foot. It is also an ideal time to combine your visit with tours of local wineries and the landscapes of the Roero.
