The 10km road race that lights up summer evenings in Cancello Scalo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Radiosa in Corsa is a road running race held in Cancello Scalo, the most populous district of the Municipality of San Felice a Cancello, in the province of Caserta, Campania. The format follows the classic style of amateur running in Southern Italy: a late-evening start, when the July heat finally begins to fade, and a course that winds through the town streets, transformed for a few hours into a race circuit. The event headquarters is Piazza Castra Marcelli, the civic heart of the district, where athletes gather, pick up their race bibs, and return after the final kilometer.
The distance is 10 kilometers, the standard benchmark for amateur circuits in Campania, set on a flat, single-loop course. It is a race well-suited both to trained runners aiming for a personal best and to those running a competitive distance for the first time: no challenging climbs, a steady rhythm, and clearly marked kilometer points along the route.
One of the event's defining features is its focus on safety. The circuit is entirely closed to traffic and monitored by local police, civil protection, volunteers, and organizational staff, with medical assistance guaranteed throughout the route. In an area where road running often means contending with daily traffic, the choice of a protected loop has a value that goes beyond the race itself: it is a message of road safety aimed at the entire community.
Radiosa in Corsa does not end at the finish line. The race pack includes a personalized bib, chip timing, refreshment stations, and medical assistance, but above all, a final pizza party that brings runners, families, and spectators together in the square at the end of the evening. Awards are given to the largest teams and the top finishers in each category, with trophies and cash prizes: a way to thank the groups arriving from across the province of Caserta and the nearby Naples area.
This dual natureโa real, timed, and regulated race, but also a local festival open to non-runnersโis what distinguishes the event from purely competitive trials. Those who stay on the sidelines still get to enjoy a lively evening in the square, with the race passing by repeatedly before the eyes of the public.
San Felice a Cancello is located at the southern edge of the province of Caserta, near the border with the Naples and Benevento areas. Cancello Scalo owes its name to the railway station, an important hub connecting to Naples, Caserta, and the Caudina Valley, which has made the district the most dynamic center of the Municipality. It is a land of plains and cultivated hills, where sports and volunteer associations play a strong role in daily life: events like this are born from that very fabric.
The number of participants is capped to ensure course safety: it is therefore advisable to follow the organization's channels and register early as soon as registration opens.
No official communication regarding the 2026 edition of Radiosa in Corsa has been issued by ASD Radiosa Primavera or the Municipality of San Felice a Cancello: the date, times, final course, and entry fees have not yet been published.
Based on the first edition, the event is expected to take place in July, in the evening, with gathering, start, and finish in Piazza Castra Marcelli in Cancello Scalo, featuring a 10-kilometer urban loop closed to traffic. As this is a limited-entry race, spots fill up quickly: it is advisable to follow the social media channels of the organization and local associations to ensure you don't miss the opening of registrations.
This page will be updated as soon as the organizers release the official program for the 2026 edition.
By train: the Cancello station is located in Cancello Scalo, a short walk from Piazza Castra Marcelli; it is served by regional connections to Naples, Caserta, and the Caudina Valley. By car: San Felice a Cancello is easily reachable from Caserta, Acerra, and Nola via provincial roads; on race evenings, some streets in the center are closed to traffic, so it is advisable to arrive early and park in the streets surrounding the square.
Participation in the race requires a fee, with an affordable entry price (in the range of a few euros, varying based on the type of timing chip) and limited spots. Registration is done online via dedicated running portals, before the deadline set by the regulations in the days leading up to the race. Watching the race and the party in the square is free of charge.
