The 10 km road race in the heart of the Agro Aversano
Corri Teverola has become a staple of the Campania running calendar. It takes place in Teverola, a town of just over thirteen thousand inhabitants in the province of Caserta, located in the heart of the Agro Aversanoโan area spanning Aversa, Carinaro, and Marcianise that stands as one of the most dynamic regions in Campania. Thanks to the efforts of ASD Atletica Teverola, this road race has evolved over the years into a collective celebration that involves the entire town.
The event, which is part of the regional FIDAL calendar, has grown rapidly: since its inception, Corri Teverola reached its fifth edition in 2025, cementing its status as one of the most popular races in the province of Caserta with hundreds of participants at the starting line.
The track measures approximately 10 kilometers (9.9 km according to the official FIDAL data) and consists of a city loop to be repeated, entirely within the urban center of Teverola. It is a completely flat course, closed to traffic and free of steep climbs: features that make it particularly suitable for those looking to set a personal best over the ten-kilometer distance.
It is no coincidence that Corri Teverola has seen the course record broken multiple times: in 2023, Moroccan runner Aziz Lakriti finished in around 32 minutes, while in 2025 Abdellah Latam stopped the clock at 31'36", with an average pace well under 3'15" per kilometer. These figures clearly illustrate the speed of the track and the technical level the race attracts.
The race is an open regional event and is open to Allievi, Juniores, Promesse, Seniores, and Master categories, both male and female. It is open to athletes registered with FIDAL and those belonging to recognized sports promotion organizations, in accordance with the regulations published by the organizers for each edition.
Those who have run in past editions speak of a very friendly atmosphere: Corri Teverola was created to combine sport, friendship, and fun, and it is no coincidence that the organizers emphasize the social value of the day over mere finishing times. The morning gathering for bib and race pack collection, individual awards, and recognition for the largest teams complete a simple yet well-organized format that has already built a loyal following among runners in the area north of Naples.
Families, friends, and curious onlookers line the course: the town center streets fill up from the early morning, turning the race into an opportunity to experience the town in a different way, with main streets reclaimed by pedestrians and traffic diverted for the duration of the event.
Teverola is strategically located between Caserta and Naples, just a few kilometers from Aversa and the magnificent Royal Palace of Caserta, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors from outside the region can easily combine the race with a visit to the Bourbon capital, the Belvedere of San Leucio, or the Campanian Amphitheatre in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. Local gastronomy, from DOP buffalo mozzarella to traditional Aversano pastries, provides the perfect excuse to extend your trip beyond the finish line.
For a runner aiming for a 10 km personal best, Corri Teverola offers everything needed: a flat course, a time of year with mild temperatures, a well-oiled organization, and a large turnout that helps maintain the pace. For everyone else, it is simply a beautiful Sunday of running in a welcoming community.
Corri Teverola returns on Sunday, October 18, 2026, confirming the autumn slot that has proven to be the most successful for this Agro Aversano race over the years. The distance remains the classic 10 kilometers on the road, to be run along the city loop set up in the center of Teverola.
Following the fifth edition in 2025, which concluded with the success of Abdellah Latam in 31'36", expectations are once again high for a fast race: the completely flat, traffic-free track is ideal for impressive times, and the participation of running clubs from Caserta, Naples, and all of Campania ensures a fast pace from the very first few hundred meters.
As per tradition, the event is organized by ASD Atletica Teverola with the involvement of the local community, and the theme remains the same as in all previous editions: sport, friendship, and fun.
By car: Teverola can be reached from the Aversa Nord exit of the Asse Mediano or from the A1 motorway (Caserta Sud exit) and the A30. In past editions, the only official event parking was set up at the Teverola market area, about a hundred meters from the starting zone.
By train: The Teverola-Carinaro station is served by the Naples-Aversa-Villa Literno regional line; alternatively, you can get off at Aversa, a few kilometers away, and continue by bus or taxi.
By plane: Naples-Capodichino Airport is approximately 25 km away.
Registration is handled online via the ICRON platform, which also manages timing and rankings. The entry fee is announced by the organization in the official regulations for each edition; it is advisable to check deadlines as registration closes in the days leading up to the race.
