The ham festival in the heart of Torre de' Passeri
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of the Val Pescara, the town of Torre de' Passeri (in the province of Pescara, Abruzzo) hosts Prosciuttiamoci every summer, a food and wine festival entirely dedicated to the ham and cured meats of the territory. The event takes place in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, the town's main square, which for the occasion transforms into a large open-air banquet filled with aromas, tasting boards, and toasts.
Prosciuttiamoci is conceived and curated by the Cappola brothers together with the Pro Loco 2.0 of Torre de' Passeri, organizations that have been enlivening the village's social life for years. The idea is simple and successful: to put ham, the iconic product of Abruzzo's butchery tradition, at the center stage and share it through direct tasting in a popular festival setting open to everyone. It is no coincidence that the event has quickly become one of the most anticipated highlights of the Torre summer.
During the evenings of Prosciuttiamoci, the square fills with food stalls where the absolute star is the ham, sliced on the spot and accompanied by typical local products. The atmosphere is that of a classic Abruzzo village festival: outdoor tables, music, chatter between neighbors and tourists, and the desire to spend time together until late at night. Entry to the square is free, and the event is designed for families, friends, and curious passersby.
Prosciuttiamoci is part of Torrestate, the rich summer festival that the municipality of Torre de' Passeri organizes from June to September with dozens of events including music, theater, sports, open-air cinema, and food festivals. Being part of this program gives the event a broader framework, capable of attracting visitors from neighboring towns in the province of Pescara and the Abruzzo hinterland.
The ham festival in Torre de' Passeri is a small but heartfelt tribute to the food and wine culture of Abruzzo, a land of cured meats, cheeses, and genuine products. Participating in Prosciuttiamoci means not only enjoying local specialties but also experiencing the authenticity of a village that knows how to celebrate with simplicity and generosity.
At the moment, the Municipality of Torre de' Passeri and the organizers have not yet communicated the official dates for the 2026 edition of Prosciuttiamoci. Following the trend of previous editions, the ham festival is expected to return during the summer, in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, with tasting stalls, typical Abruzzo products, and evenings of music and conviviality. As soon as the Torrestate 2026 calendar includes the event, we will update this page with dates, times, and the program.
