The concert that unites music, technology, and innovation in the spirit of Innocenzo Manzetti
Onde Sonore: Manzetti and Innovation is the event in Aymavilles (province of Aosta) within Printemps en Musique, the major spring festival celebrating music throughout the Aosta Valley. The concert, hosted by the Auditorium of Aymavilles, is curated by SFOM and presents an original project that blends music, technology, and innovation.
The common thread is the figure of Innocenzo Manzetti (1826-1877), a multifaceted inventor from the Aosta Valley, celebrated on the bicentenary of his birth: he was responsible for pioneering insights in mechanics and telecommunications. The concert pays homage to his ingenuity with a program that intertwines the sonic dimension with that of innovation, highlighting the link between artistic and scientific creativity rooted in the Aosta Valley region.
The protagonist of the evening is the SFOM orchestra (the music training school of the Aosta Valley), conducted by Enrico Montanari, with compositions and arrangements by Paolo Torrente. Part of the Printemps en Musique program – which ranges from classical music to jazz, from pop to bands, with particular attention to choral music – this concert represents one of the most original moments of the festival, capable of uniting the talent of musicians from the Aosta Valley with the story of a great figure from the region.
The concert Onde Sonore: Manzetti and Innovation is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9:00 PM, at the Auditorium of Aymavilles, as part of the Printemps en Musique festival (2026 edition from May 15 to July 11). Curated by SFOM, it features the school's orchestra conducted by Enrico Montanari, with compositions and arrangements by Paolo Torrente. The program blends music, technology, and innovation, paying homage to Innocenzo Manzetti, an inventor from the Aosta Valley of the 19th century, on the bicentenary of his birth.
The Auditorium of Aymavilles is located in Aymavilles, in the Aosta plain, reachable by car from the A5 motorway (Aosta exit) and the main road.
