The 360° music festival of the Aosta Valley, featuring classical, jazz, and singer-songwriter music
Aosta Classica is the main music festival in the Aosta Valley. Born in 1996 as a showcase for the summer productions of the Italian Youth Orchestra, over the years it has broadened its scope to become a "360-degree" festival: not only classical music, but also jazz, singer-songwriter, folk music, blues, and rock. The event is organized by the Aosta Classica Cultural Association, based in via Conte Crotti in Aosta.
The heart of the major summer concerts is the Piazza d'Armi of Forte di Bard, the 19th-century fortress that dominates the entrance to the valley: a natural stone amphitheater that serves as a stage for the stars of Italian music. The city of Aosta, on the other hand, hosts the more intimate and educational moments, from the Jazz Workshop to the residencies of the Italian Youth Orchestra.
Over the years, the festival has hosted leading singer-songwriters, orchestras, and bands, alternating major evening concerts with workshops and productions dedicated to young musicians. The Jazz Workshop in early July, in Aosta, is a space for training and exchange; the residencies of the Italian Youth Orchestra culminate in a symphonic concert at the Forte. A formula that combines performance and artistic growth, rooted in the territory of the Aosta Valley Region.
Aosta Classica intertwines music with the alpine landscape: in addition to concerts, the festival has developed projects that tell the story of the valley and its peaks, bringing musical culture beyond traditional venues. A summer event that has become part of the region's cultural identity.
The 31st edition of Aosta Classica confirms the festival's 360-degree format, spread throughout July until early August 2026. It opens with the Jazz Workshop in Aosta from July 6 to 11, continues with major evening concerts at the Piazza d'Armi of Forte di Bard, and culminates with the residency of the Italian Youth Orchestra in Aosta (July 30 – August 3). The stage at the Forte hosts singer-songwriters and stars of Italian music, while the television project "Da Aosta ai 4Mila" brings the story of the festival and the mountains to Rai networks.
Television project "Da Aosta ai 4Mila" airing on Rai 2 between August and September 2026. Program subject to change: final schedules and times will be published on the official website.
Forte di Bard is located at the entrance of the Aosta Valley, reachable by car from the A5 highway (Pont-Saint-Martin or Verrès exit). Aosta is connected by train and car (Aosta exit). Shuttles and parking are often provided for major concerts.
Concerts at Forte di Bard are ticketed, with tickets available for sale on Ticketone. Prices vary depending on the artist and seating section. The Jazz Workshop and some events in Aosta may have different admission fees.
Evening concerts at altitude can be cool: bring a jacket. Book tickets in advance for the most popular acts and arrive early for the best spots in the Piazza d'Armi.
