About Printemps en Musique

Every spring, Valle d'Aosta fills with music thanks to Printemps en Musique, a widespread review promoted by the Region. From May to July, concerts, choirs, musical bands, traditional music, and major choral events animate theatres, churches, and squares throughout the region, from Aosta to Pont-Saint-Martin, from Fénis to Aymavilles. Among the highlights are the Assemblée des chœurs et groupes folkloriques, the gathering of Valle d'Aosta bands, and Mozart's Requiem at the Arena P8.

The musical spring of Valle d'Aosta

Printemps en Musique is the major widespread music review that enlivens Valle d'Aosta every spring. Promoted by the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta through the Department of Education and Culture, in collaboration with the Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste and the Maria Ida Viglino Musical Foundation (SFOM), it brings together concerts, choirs, musical bands, traditional music, and the major gatherings of the region's musical life into a single programme.

A programme spread across the territory

From May to July, events unfold between Aosta and the region's municipalities: the Teatro Splendor in Aosta, the Collegiata di Sant'Orso, the auditoriums of Pont-Saint-Martin and Aymavilles, and the villages of Fénis and surrounding areas. This format brings music to theatres, churches, and squares, showcasing professionals, young students, and the many amateur groups in the area.

Major choral and band events

The heart of the review lies in two historic gatherings: the Assemblée des chœurs et des groupes folkloriques valdôtains, which brings together dozens of choirs and folk groups from across the region, and the Raduno delle bande musicali valdostane (Gathering of Valle d'Aosta Musical Bands), a celebration of Alpine band tradition. These are complemented by traditional music in patois (Patoué eun Mezeucca), choral projects for young people, and major symphonic-choral concerts.

An identity review

Printemps en Musique is not just a concert season; it's an event that reflects the deep connection between Valle d'Aosta and its music, blending Francophonie, Patois, and Alpine tradition. For visitors to the region in spring, it's an opportunity to discover a living heritage of voices, bands, and communities.
