Labor Day celebration featuring music and rights in Tre Fontane
The Primo Maggio Fest is the event that brings the Labor Day celebrations to life in the seaside hamlet of Tre Fontane, in Campobello di Mazara, province of Trapani. For the occasion, the central Piazza Favoroso on the seafront becomes a large open-air stage featuring live music, songs, and traditional dances, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both residents and visitors from the entire Mazara area.
The event has a dual purpose: entertainment on one hand, and reflection on the value of work and the dignity of workers on the other. Representatives from the CGIL, CISL, and UIL trade unions take the stage to highlight the constitutional importance of this holiday, while the musical program accompanies the audience from the afternoon until late evening. The event also includes institutional moments, such as the presentation of plaques to trade union representatives and tributes dedicated to figures dear to the community.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Mazara del Vallo with the patronage of the Municipality of Campobello di Mazara and the support of trade unions and local businesses, the event aims to be an open and popular gathering. The choice of Tre Fontane is no coincidence: the seaside village, with its square overlooking the southwestern coast of Sicily, offers a picturesque setting to spend Labor Day in good company, surrounded by music and the sea.
Between Selinunte and Mazara del Vallo, the Primo Maggio Fest is an excellent opportunity to discover this corner of the province of Trapani during an authentically Sicilian day of celebration.
The 2026 edition of the Primo Maggio Fest took place on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Piazza Favoroso, on the seafront of Tre Fontane, in Campobello di Mazara. A completely free day that transformed the seaside hamlet into a large open-air stage, alternating musical entertainment with moments of reflection on the value of work alongside the CGIL, CISL, and UIL trade unions.
The highlight of the day was the concert by singer-songwriter Povia, accompanied by specially choreographed performances, followed by the energy of local bands and the grand dance finale. The hosting and institutional moments, including the presentation of plaques to trade unions, provided the framework for a festival designed for the entire community of the Trapani area.
Hosted by Vittoria Adriana Abbenante. Throughout the day, there were speeches by representatives of CGIL, CISL, and UIL, and the presentation of plaques to the trade unions.
The highlight was the concert by Povia at 5:00 PM, the headliner of the 2026 edition, followed by the dance finale of the Radio Time 90 format featuring 90s hits.
