About Porticello Fest

Porticello Fest is the premier festival dedicated to blue fish, bringing the seaside village of Porticello—a district of Santa Flavia, near Palermo—to life. Over three days, Piano Stenditore, overlooking the harbor, becomes a hub for local seafood and maritime culture, featuring live cooking shows with local chefs, masterclasses, themed tastings, and street food, all complemented by cabaret, DJ sets, and evening entertainment. This event weaves together maritime heritage, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of the 'Costa d'Oro', supported by the Sicilian Region's 'Sicilia che piace' initiative.

Porticello Fest in Santa Flavia

The Porticello Fest – Blue Fish Festival takes place in Porticello, a picturesque fishing village part of the municipality of Santa Flavia, along the renowned 'Costa d'Oro' in the province of Palermo. The event celebrates the heart and soul of this fishing community: blue fish, the absolute star of local cuisine and economy, ranging from sardines and anchovies to the prized tuna of the Tyrrhenian tradition.

Three days of taste, sea, and culture

The event is held at Piano Stenditore, the square overlooking the port of Porticello, which is transformed for the occasion into a grand 'village of taste'. Throughout the three days, visitors can enjoy cooking shows with local chefs, masterclasses, and tastings dedicated to maritime culture, alongside a large food area featuring local specialties, street food, and the daily catch.

Entertainment and shows

Evenings blend gastronomy with live entertainment. The 2026 program features cabaret, DJ sets, and music, hosted by comedian and showman Sergio Friscia for the grand finale. The lineup also includes pop and indie music selections, with activities designed for families and children.

Sustainability and local promotion

Beyond the flavors, Porticello Fest highlights environmental sustainability and responsible fishing, with talks and meetings dedicated to the tourism and economic future of the Costa d'Oro and the nearby archaeological site of Solunto, which overlooks the gulf. The initiative is part of the regional program 'Sicilia che piace', promoted by the Regional Department of Productive Activities, and is organized by the Municipality of Santa Flavia.

A village to discover

Visiting Porticello Fest is the perfect opportunity to explore one of the most authentic seaside villages in Sicily: the fish market, the colorful boats moored at the docks, the nearby Aspra with its marinas, and the ancient city of Solunto make Santa Flavia an ideal destination for those seeking sea, archaeology, and traditional cuisine just a few kilometers from Palermo.
