Three evenings of Bavarian cuisine, beer, Tuscan dishes, and live music on the Montalbano hills
Every summer, the small village of Porciano, in the municipality of Lamporecchio (Pistoia province, Tuscany), transforms into a corner of Bavaria. Porciano in Festa, widely known as the Bavarian Festival, is one of the most beloved summer events on the Montalbano hills: three consecutive evenings where beer steins, the aroma of roasted pork knuckle, and live music bring the Via San Giorgio Green Area to life.
The heart of the event is the food. Alongside great traditional German specialties, the kitchen offers typical Tuscan dishes every evening to satisfy every palate. There is plenty of beer and the famous warm bomboloni, served every night to round off the evening.
After dinner, starting at 9:30 PM, the atmosphere heats up with live music: tribute bands, 70s, 80s, and 90s covers, and dance hits get the crowd moving on one of the most panoramic terraces of the Montalbano, overlooking the rolling hills of Pistoia.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Porciano together with the Circolo Arci Porciano, under the patronage of the Municipality of Lamporecchio. It is the result of the voluntary work of the local residents and represents one of the most heartfelt gathering moments for the community. Admission is free, in the true spirit of a village festival.
