Summer evenings at the Villa Stonorov amphitheatre in Pistoia
Notti di stelle is the summer festival organised by the Jorio Vivarelli Foundation in the open-air amphitheatre of the Villa Stonorov park, in Felceti, just outside Pistoia. From June 4th to September 11th, 2026, primarily on Thursday evenings at 9:15 PM, the stage nestled in the greenery and among the maestro's sculptures hosts concerts, theatrical monologues, poetry readings, and themed evenings, in an intimate and familiar atmosphere that has become a staple of Pistoia's summer.
The Jorio Vivarelli Foundation preserves the artistic legacy of the Pistoia-born sculptor Jorio Vivarelli within Villa Stonorov, a residence designed by architect Oskar Stonorov. In summer, the park and amphitheatre become a natural stage: the audience enjoys performances surrounded by works of art, in a constant dialogue between music, words, and sculpture that makes every evening unique.
The 2026 edition of Notti di stelle offers a varied and multidisciplinary line-up. Announced highlights include:
The festival takes a break during August, resuming in September for the final events.
Notti di stelle explores many artistic languages: from jazz to Italian pop, from blues to rock, and from poetry to spoken-word theatre. It is a high-quality cultural offering on a human scale, designed for those who love spending summer evenings outdoors with a drink and great music, in one of the most evocative corners of the province of Pistoia, in Tuscany.
Those looking for a summer experience different from large, crowded festivals will find a cosy and authentic atmosphere at Villa Stonorov: art, nature, and live performance in one single place. Booking is recommended for some evenings, given the limited capacity of the amphitheatre.
The 2026 summer season of the Jorio Vivarelli Foundation opens on June 4th with the "La notte è '60" evening, dedicated to 1960s Italian music, and continues every Thursday at 9:15 PM until September 11th. The programme alternates jazz, blues, and rock concerts, poetic monologues, readings, and themed shows, in the setting of the open-air amphitheatre nestled in the park of Villa Stonorov, Pistoia.
