Polenta takes center stage in Piazza Monte Ortigara

The heart of the day is polenta, a traditional Piedmontese peasant dish and a symbol of conviviality. Long tables are set up in Piazza Monte Ortigara, where guests can enjoy polenta prepared by local volunteers in a friendly atmosphere filled with smiles, conversation, and new acquaintances. It is the perfect opportunity to rediscover the genuine flavors of the Cuneo mountains and to reconnect with friends and neighbors in one of the most characteristic villages of the Valle Gesso.

The lunch is accompanied by live music: in recent editions, entertainment was provided by the duo I dui Pais, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant and festive. What makes the Polenta Solidale special is its charitable purpose: all proceeds from the day are donated to the Istituto Imberti Grandis nursing home in Valdieri, an important institution for the Valle Gesso and many local families. Enjoying a plate of polenta thus becomes a concrete gesture of support for the community, perfectly balancing gastronomic tradition with social commitment. The festival is supported by the Roaschia municipal administration and the collaboration of local volunteers.
