In Buggio, a hamlet of the municipality of Pigna in the province of Imperia, the Chestnut Festival celebrates the symbolic fruit of the Ligurian autumn. The roasted chestnuts come from the historic chestnut groves of Val Nervia, which for centuries have been a fundamental resource for the economy and cuisine of these mountain villages.

The absolute stars are the roasted chestnuts, distributed and fragrant through the village streets, accompanied by traditional dishes and local products. The festival is one of the most heartfelt in the Imperia hinterland and attracts visitors from all over the valley.

By car: from Ventimiglia, take the Val Nervia along the SP64 to Pigna, then continue towards the hamlet of Buggio. Mountain roads, parking near the village.
