Three days of roaring ovens, master pizzaiolos, and Neapolitan street food at Prato della Fiera
The Pizza Festival in Tour is a traveling gastronomic circuit that brings a passion for pizza across Italy. At the end of May, it stops in Caselle Torinese, a town in the northern outskirts of Turin, Piedmont. For three days, the Prato della Fiera transforms into a massive village of taste, featuring eight ovens constantly lit and about twenty master pizzaiolos working to serve hot pizza from morning until late at night.
The heart of the event is Neapolitan tradition: alongside classic Neapolitan pizza, you will find gourmet versions, the famous fried pizza, and numerous regional specialties. There is no shortage of "Amici della Pizza" stands offering cuoppi (cones of fried food), panuozzi, and Campanian desserts like sfogliatelle. It is a journey through the flavors of the South, served under the skies of the Turin area, attracting thousands of visitors every year.
Renowned names in the art of dough, mostly from Campania, take turns at the ovens. Featured guests include Antonio Romeo, Salvatore Grieco, Giovanni D'Auria (2016 Italian champion), Totò Sapore, Giovanni Polise, Andrea Marino, and Tina Quaranta, known as the "queen of fried pizza." The event is conceived by national director Gianluca Miolli and produced in collaboration with the Italian Association of Pizza Chefs.
Beyond the food, every evening features live entertainment: from public karaoke and "singing dinners" to DJ sets and Latin-themed nights. Sunday afternoon is highlighted by a vintage car rally. For the little ones, a free kids' area is set up with games, creative workshops, and active entertainment throughout all three days, making the event truly family-friendly.
The festival maintains the winning formula of great Italian street fairs: free admission, no reservations required, a convivial atmosphere, and affordable prices. In Caselle Torinese, pizza becomes the perfect excuse to bring together residents, curious visitors, and foodies from the entire Turin metropolitan area for a weekend of taste, tradition, and fun.
