The spring festival in the heart of Pineto, featuring flowers, local flavors, vintage cars, and open-air dancing
Pineto Festival — Welcome Spring is the annual event that has long served as the symbolic start of the season in Pineto, a charming seaside town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. For one full Sunday in May, Piazza della Libertà and the surrounding streets turn into a festive hub dedicated to local flavors, floral displays, handicrafts, and entertainment for all ages, with shops open and a rich program of activities running from morning until night.
The heart of the event is the large spring market: stalls brimming with flowers, plants, local delicacies, and handmade goods color the town center. True to Abruzzese tradition, the star of the show is the street food, featuring savory porchetta and the iconic arrosticini, while local bars serve up refreshing spring cocktails. It is the perfect occasion for a stroll through the shop windows, supporting local businesses during a day of great excitement.
The morning is dedicated to vintage cars, which take center stage in a parade through the city and a classic vehicle exhibition on Via Gramsci. The afternoon is reserved for the little ones with a bouncy castle park, while the evening heats up with open-air dancing, bringing together people of all ages for a joyful and communal finale to the day.
The event is promoted by the Pineto Merchants' Association with the involvement of local stakeholders—trade associations, local authorities, and the Municipality of Pineto—in a collaboration that blends commerce, tradition, and community life. More than just a fair, Welcome Spring has become a defining event for Pineto: a way to reconnect, celebrate the beautiful season, and enjoy the town center together.
The 2026 edition, the ninth of the event, brought the center of Pineto to life for a full spring Sunday. Piazza della Libertà and the city streets hosted flower markets, local products, handicrafts, and traditional Abruzzese street food, in a day dedicated to local commerce and fun for all ages.
The event was promoted by the Pineto Merchants' Association, which celebrated thirty years of activity in 2026, together with trade associations and local entities.
