The Riparbella community festival celebrating biodiversity, sustainability, and local flavors
Pianeta Ripa is a community festival held in Riparbella, a charming village in the Province of Pisa overlooking the Maritime Hills in the heart of Tuscany. Born from a desire to showcase the territory and promote a more conscious lifestyle, the event is dedicated to the Earth, biodiversity, and rural culture, celebrating the deep bond between the community, the environment, and local traditions.
For an entire weekend, the space around "Il Giardino" in the La Fagiolaia district transforms into a vibrant hub open to everyone. The program blends taste, nature, and community engagement: food stalls featuring local "zero-kilometer" dishes, an artisan market, workshops for children and adults, live music, activities for all ages, and discussions involving local associations, schools, and farms.
The culinary heart of the festival lies in the Pro Loco food stalls, where traditional Tuscan rural cuisine is prepared with genuine, seasonal ingredients. Highlights include:
The latest addition is the RiparCHIANINA, an artisanal sausage made from Chianina beef from the Mengozzi farm, symbolizing the festival's commitment to short supply chains and local producers.
Beyond gastronomy, Pianeta Ripa is a journey through biodiversity, recycling, environmental education, and authentic flavors. Educational workshops, animal activities, conferences, and school initiatives help visitors discover a more sustainable way of living. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Riparbella, is supported by the Municipality of Riparbella, the Rural and Organic District of Val di Cecina, and the GAL Terre Etrusche.
More than just a food festival, Pianeta Ripa is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of local tradition and the landscape of the Maritime Hills. It is a family-friendly event where conviviality, environmental awareness, and rural identity blend into a welcoming, genuine atmosphere far from the reach of mass tourism.
For the 2026 edition, the Pro Loco of Riparbella presented Pianeta Ripa as a major community festival dedicated to sustainability and the promotion of the territory, with the support of the Municipality of Riparbella, the Rural and Organic District of Val di Cecina, and the GAL Terre Etrusche.
The area around "Il Giardino" hosted food stalls, an artisan market, activities for all ages, workshops, music, and moments of reflection with local associations, schools, and farms.
