The grand children's Carnival celebration at the Auditorium Flaiano in Pescara
The Mascherina d'Argento has become one of the most beloved Carnival traditions in the Adriatic capital. Hosted in the prestigious Auditorium Flaiano in Pescara, Abruzzo, the festival transforms a Carnival afternoon into an explosion of color, music, and joy, with children as the undisputed stars. The formula is simple and successful: children aged 3 to 10 take the stage in their most imaginative costumes, parading before the audience and a jury to compete for the famous Mascherina d'Argento trophy.
The event has been hosted for years by Beppe Convertini, a well-known Rai television personality, who guides the children through an afternoon packed with entertainment. Each edition brings musical guests, dancers, and performers to the stage: young singers, illusionists, and magicians bring the show to life, while dance troupes and choreography turn the event into a grand spectacle. All participating children receive a souvenir prize, while the jury selects the most beautiful and original costumes, ultimately crowning the overall winner.
The Mascherina d'Argento is about more than just fun: the event has a strong charitable mission. Voluntary donations collected from participants and spectators are donated to associations supporting children, giving the festival a meaning that goes beyond mere entertainment. Organized by the Municipality of Pescara in collaboration with Venus Entertainment and the International Cultural Association, both participation for children and audience admission are free.
The Mascherina d'Argento is part of the broader Pescara Carnival calendar, which in the days leading up to the event enlivens various city districts with float parades, confetti, and costume parties. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the spirit of Carnival in the provincial capital of Pescara, blending popular tradition with joy shared by young and old alike.
The 58th Mascherina d'Argento took place on February 17, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Auditorium Flaiano in Pescara. The event was hosted once again by Beppe Convertini, joined by godmother Aurora Di Profio, singer from The Voice Kids. Numerous guests alternated on stage, including singer Flavia Renzi, model Agnese Ruggero, and magician Foster, with 22 professional dancers enhancing the show. 45 children aged 3 to 10 participated: the jury selected the eight most beautiful and original costumes, crowning young Pietro, dressed as the 'Recycling Dragon', as the winner. The donations collected were donated to the association «Alda e Sergio per i bambini».
The Auditorium Flaiano is located in Pescara and is easily accessible by car (A14 motorway, Pescara Ovest or Pescara Est exits) and by train via the Pescara Centrale station, which is well-connected along the Adriatic coast.
Participation for children (aged 3-10) and audience admission are free. Children's registration is handled by phone via the number provided by the organizers.
This is a family-friendly event: we recommend arriving early to secure a seat and fully enjoy the show.
